The Science of Auricular Medicine
Auricular therapy is based on the concept of the inverted fetus — the ear contains a complete somatotopic map of the body, with the earlobe corresponding to the head, the antihelix to the spine, the concha to the internal organs, and the fossa to the extremities.
Detection of active ear points is done through palpation, electrical resistance measurement, and visual inspection of the ear surface. Active points show measurable differences in skin conductance and often present with visible changes — discoloration, protrusions, or skin texture variations — that correlate precisely with the patient's symptoms.
