AHM Properties

Taro strengthens Spleen and Stomach Qi, helps clear dampness, reduces swelling, and has a detoxifying effect. It supports the middle burner and is recognized as anti-inflammatory in both traditional AHM and modern contexts. Its mildly warming, pungent quality moves stagnation while its natural sweetness builds Spleen. Taro must always be fully cooked to neutralize the irritating compounds present in the raw root.

Contraindications

Must be cooked thoroughly — raw taro contains calcium oxalate crystals causing irritation. Avoid excess in damp patterns.
