AHM Properties

Soybeans strengthen Spleen and Stomach Qi, nourish Blood and Yin, moisten dryness, supplement the Kidneys, and support heart and vascular health by promoting circulation and assisting the body in clearing toxins. They boost pancreatic function, support clear vision, and their high fiber content promotes bowel regularity. Fermented forms — miso, tempeh, natto, soy sauce — offer superior bioavailability and probiotic benefits over unfermented soy.

Soybeans provide iron and calcium for blood health and bone strength, potassium and magnesium for heart function and blood pressure regulation, and folate and B vitamins supporting energy production and cellular health. Their isoflavones act as mild phytoestrogens with antioxidant properties, and as one of the few complete plant proteins, they match the quality of meat protein. Their low glycemic index promotes stable blood sugar and sustained energy.

Contraindications

Use with caution in soy allergies and with hypothyroid medications. Avoid high-dose isoflavone supplementation during pregnancy or in hormone-sensitive conditions. Fermented forms are always preferable to unfermented. Mildly damp-forming if undercooked.
