AHM Properties
In five-element theory, salt is the defining flavor of the Kidney, and in small amounts it guides other therapeutic foods into the Kidney channel. It has a moistening action on dryness, softens areas of hardness, and helps resolve phlegm accumulation. That said, excessive salt intake is among the most harmful dietary patterns in AHM — depleting Kidney Yin, weakening Blood, and damaging bones. The classical principle here is simple: a little builds, a lot drains.
Contraindications
Excess salt damages Kidney Yin and Blood, raises blood pressure, and injures bones. The salty flavour enters Kidney — small amounts tonify, large amounts deplete.
