AHM Properties

Oolong tea falls between green and black tea in nature — partially neutral in temperature, which makes it a good fit across different constitution types. It supports the digestion of fatty foods, eases mild heat, sharpens mental clarity, and helps clear phlegm-damp. In AHM, it is seen as bringing harmony to the middle burner without leaning strongly toward cooling or warming, making it a particularly good choice after a heavy or rich meal.

Oolong tea provides partially oxidized polyphenols including EGCG and theaflavins with documented anti-inflammatory activity that supports its AHM role in clearing Heat, resolving Dampness, and supporting digestion and metabolism.

Contraindications

Avoid on empty stomach or before sleep. Caution in iron-deficiency anaemia.
